Final Presentation @ CAP Main Campus Muncie, IN

On April 21, all MUD students carpooled to the main campus to present their final presentations at CAP (College of Architecture & Planning) in Muncie, IN. Professors from across departments such as urban planning and landscape architecture attended and enriched the discussions with their respective expertise and points of view on the matter.

Starting at 2:00pm, students presented in pairs depending on the site selections proximity and received incremental critics after each one. Students used powerful slides to present their works, boards to showcase overall scheme, and above all movies to provide a full experience for their proposed built environment.

Critics and feedback focused on the several aspects of the projects. For instance, many professionals applauded the desire to create walkable dominant areas, but they kept skeptical of the necessity to give cars partial accessibility. Also, students were encouraged to think big in terms of future modes of transportations, especially for the seniors. On the same matter, students were urged to provide a full experience of pedestrians across time and space in the proposed built environments. Also, student were encouraged to select a scalable favorite areas in their respective projects so that they can expand their research and design exploration during the summer semester.

After all, MUD professors expressed their gratitude for the impressive level of the presentations and gave final remarks and directions for the coming steps, especially the professional presentation to be held at Ratio Indianapolis on the May 3rd, 2016.
