ULI Competition, 2016: Atlanta, GA

This competition assumes that Midtown South Development Partnership- in Atlanta, GA, had called for proposals to provide a vision to redevelop the competition site and create an environment with a plausible and necessary program, design, typologies, and all necessary elements to ensure a sustainable mixed-use neighborhood for residents, workers, and visitors.

This design solution defined the major stakeholders of the Midtown neighborhood and used the existing assets to create a dynamic relationship with the new development. The design proposal provided a program that seeks to build a community through shared neighborhood buildings such as a community center, daycare center, preschool, and rebuilding the existing high school on the site. Additionally, the proposal  enriched the created nodes  with programs that strategically connected the proposed development with the context program.

This competition submission was produced by a group of five graduate students from the College of Architecture & Planning at Ball State University, 2016. They are as follows: Taylor Firestone, Austin Roy, Debra Lake, Simran Bhinder, and myself.
