The purpose of this project is to create a block completely off the grid using a renewable energy source (Geo-Thermal Power Plant) and compatible package of components. A block where energy is local, and residential units which are not only consumers but also water and energy collectors.

Physical form of block elements is in response and dialogue with the symbol of the block. In the Renewable Energy Power Plant, proximity to the light rail helps create density and promotes place making. Walkablity is not the idea of being able to walk, but attracted to walk through creating the safe, not through traffic, playful pathways, and interesting environment. The block includes, Energy power plant, different types of housings, Pocket Park, Light Rail Stop Station, underground parking lot.  The urban renewable energy power plant is a great asset to achieve the following: local Source of energy, independency over grid, profitable,  affordable utilities and services, economic development, educational oriented plant, promotes live and work system, eco-friendly energy. The concept is based on five aspects: Create an urban node, Educational-oriented plant, Expanded energy distribution, Integration with Transit. Create more density, and Promote economic development.
