Aviation & Meteorology Building-CAMA

This schematic design was prepared during my work at the Civil Aviation Authority in Yemen, aka CAMA. The building is intended to function as an aviation processing station that would exchange information with the aviation tower at the airport facility. Though, the first floor will house aviation and telecom equipments where technicians would work in constantly changing and non-stoping shifts 24/7, the upper floor was designed with rich outward views and inward interactive open plan to create a sense of spaciousness and restfulness during their rest hours.

The design attempted at resolving very problematic project from many aspects. The program was very complex considering the technical requirements, desire to provide terraces, site space limitations and orientations, and last but not least, the desire to provide sense of modern style of Yemeni Architecture and intricate proportions within a small building that does not exceed 20mx20m.
